Katie Lerwick started writing stories for children when her son and daughter were in preschool. Their imaginations and curiosity brought to life unique characters and scenarios created through their play, and inspired Lerwick to weave what she recalled into a picture book adventure for her kids to look back on and for all children to enjoy.
Lerwick lives in St. Louis, Missouri, right next to Forest Park, where children still explore and dream, and Where Did the Turtles Go? was born.
